A Lawyer Who Puts Hoosiers First
Timothy Manges, a partner at Fletcher Van Gilder, has been practicing law for 35 years, including municipal law, business law, wills, probate and mediation. He is a former City Attorney for the City of Fort Wayne.
The core of his job across all his legal practice areas, Tim says, is listening, getting to the root of an issue, and conducting all of his work with high integrity.
He advocates before boards, commissions and councils. He works with allies and adversaries alike to achieve productive results.
“I most enjoy connecting with people and trying to help them resolve issues,” Tim said. “I especially enjoy working with municipalities in addressing public safety, even under contentious circumstances. I like that at the municipal level of government my work can have a nearly immediate impact on people’s quality of life. That’s especially true with the work I do for the City of Fort Wayne. I was born and raised here and am not going anywhere else.”
In the course of his career, Tim has worked for law firms of all sizes, big corporations and government.
Many of his clients are municipal officials dealing with disputes.
“Most municipal employees I’ve encountered genuinely want to do their jobs to the best of their ability and want what’s best for the community,” he said. “I try to emulate them.”
He knew Fletcher Van Gilder attorneys from his days in city government. He respected them, admired the quality of their work, and was delighted to join the firm.
Tim is also a musician and supporter of many arts organizations. Art and music, he says, are what make life richer.
